Talk about a bargain! All of the shoes on this site are very reasonably priced, stylish, and high quality. I am seeing all of fall’s trends in here – jewel tones, animal prints, lace up heels, glitter…oh I am in trouble…

So I know it’s been quite some time since my last post, but I promise there is good reason!

My partner-in-crime Emily made a huge leap and jetted off to NYC to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. I am seriously so very proud of her!

I, on the other hand, have been on a whirlwind tour of the US – part work, part play – and am finally back and ready to jump right back on the blogging.

Things here at Healthy Obsession are going to be changing a little bit, but all of it is great! We’re going to focus more on things we are obsessing over right now. Keep your eyes peeled for the new logo (below) attached to pictures and posts in the future. If you’re interested in snagging one of these limited edition pins for yourself, just comment below or shoot me an email at lisa@healthyobsessionfashion.com.

Black or white available!

Lovely Austin Boutique — Austin’s loveliest consignment shop!

Jun 26th, 2011 / Read More »

Consignment shopping is where some of the best treasures are found. Some of the best brand name merchandise is at your fingertips, and this is no different at Lovely Austin boutique — I fell in love with a pair of gorgeous silk shorts by Diane von Furstenberg and had my eye on several dresses by Milly and Alberta Ferretti.

When you walk into the store there are tons of clothes and accessories staring at you, waiting for you to explore them :) Get excited!

As two good friends, Jane and Danielle opened Lovely Austin in September 2009 to present their unbeatable merchandise and to give local artists and designers a place to display their product and get their name out there. On top of the great feeling of discovering amazing pieces every day, their involvement in consignment came about from their backgrounds in web development and business, along with a strong belief in the idea of ‘going green’. The concept of recycling and capitalizing on the trend of reselling goods is what has made their boutique successful and gold mind for the smart shopper.

Lovely Austin boutique is definitely a spot you do not want to miss on your shopping spree down South First Street!

Pieces from the Past — FLASHBACK Vintage.

Jun 13th, 2011 / Read More »

As most of you know, vintage shopping is more of a practiced art than your ordinary day at the mall. It is about fabrics and style, and knowing that you are getting a one of a kind piece of the past (or multiple in our case..).

Marsha Laine, the founder of Flashback, has been in the business of vintage since 1982 when she opened her store. When selecting her merchandise from various shows, stores, and vendors, she focuses on fabric first and foremost. Marsha says, “when I see great material, I know I have a great garment”. Style is also a huge factor, but that will always vary depending on the trends of the season.

Flashback carries garments of all sizes, so anyone can, and will, find something amazing to walk away with. Marsha worked as a personal stylist, she is very familiar with the fit and styles that are good for different figures. Oh, and don’t worry, you won’t empty out your bank account shopping here, especially if you take advantage of ‘the bargin room’ in the back of the store where nothing is more than 25 buck-a-roos!!!

So if you are looking to spice up your wardrobe with something unique and festive, go check it out — Flashback Vintage, 1805 South First Street. You will be very happy you did!!
